Rick was raised in Ronkonkoma and is a graduate of LaSalle Military Academy in Oakdale. Rick went on to continue his education at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He returned to Long Island in 1991 to pursue his dream of owning his own business.
Today, Rick Cunha is a successful entrepreneur and small business owner. As the principal of Lakehill Homes LLC., a residential and commercial building company located in Farmingville, Rick has made the reality of home ownership possible for many.
He is an active member of the Brookhaven community, who participates in many local community organizations. Some of these organizations include the Farmingville Historical Society, The Farmingville Civic, Yaphank Taxpayers and Civic Association, Various Local Republican Clubs, The National Rifle Association, and The Portuguese American Culture Center of Suffolk.
Rick knows first hand the impact this economy is having on working families, young adults, and seniors in Brookhaven. As a successful business owner, Rick has the skills and experience to meet a bottom line, set goals, meet those goals, and create jobs. Rick believes that we can improve the efficiency of Brookhaven Town government through new initiatives and the integration of private sector business practices.
